Standard Bank's clients have chosen the Bank's Investor Services division as their Top Rated custodian, in the Major Markets Survey conducted by Global Custodian Magazine.
The Global Custodian Agent Bank Review, published by leading international industry publication, Global Custodian, is based on client feedback and measures agent banks in both major and emerging markets on the quality of service they provide to their domestic and cross-border clients. The award is highly contested by banking institutions in South Africa and abroad.
Investor Services was awarded Top Rated Agent Bank in South Africa, recognised for service excellence by its Domestic Clients. A Commended Rating was also achieved in both the Cross-border Clients and Leading Client category for South Africa.
Information for the third-party survey is gathered during three months of interviews and questionnaires sent to global custodians, brokerage firms, investment managers, insurance companies and other financial institutions. Scores are based on performance in seven categories: settlement, safekeeping, client reporting, account administration, ancillary services, technology, and commitment/fees.
"We are very pleased with this result as it affirms our commitment to maintaining high levels of service to our clients - their acknowledgement is certainly high praise," says Mark Kerns, Managing Director and Global Head Investor Services, Standard Bank Corporate and Investment Banking.
"We are committed to continuing to expand our product range in the markets in which we offer services and this feedback positively endorses the strategy we have adopted."
Investor Services, is currently the largest provider of custody and investment related products and services across twelve sub-Saharan markets to local and foreign institutional investors.
Standard Bank's regional Custody service provides clients with a single point of entry into the current 12 African markets covered by Standard Bank.
