Standard Bank website gets makeover

14 April 2008

Standard Bank, which operates South Africa’s most used banking website attracting close to one million unique users a month, has given its website a comprehensive makeover that improves ease of use and functionality.

Rated by web information company Alexa as South Africa’s most visited financial services website, Standard Bank’s website has been revamped to make it more user-friendly, easier to navigate and quicker to access product information and use the bank’s online services. The site records more than six million page impressions per month.

Apart from banking customers, the website is also used by investors, other stakeholders and people seeking information about the bank, its history, its products and services. The website is a major brand-building and brand awareness tool for the bank across its South African, African and International operations.

”The changes we have made to our website are based on a usability study we undertook with our banking customers and other site users. As a direct result of this study, we took a needs-driven approach to deliver a cleaner, fresher website which makes it easier to access information in line with their needs,” said Peter Schlebusch, CEO, Personal and Business Banking at Standard Bank South Africa.

The new site represents more than a redesign as it aligns what customers have asked for with international best practice and the latest navigation design.
