Innibos a treat for all

11 June 2007

Pure South African talents hit the stages at the Innibos 2007 festival in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, from 27 June to 1 July 2007.

Standard Bank, as a sponsor of the arts, has been backing this festival financially since it was first put on in 2005.

The festival’s main focus is on music but there are some top-notch plays and fringe events, such as a golf day, art meander and even a children’s programme. This year sees the introduction of a film festival that includes screening of winners of the Lowveld International Short Film Competition.

If you’re an aspirant songwriter, get to the festival. A leg of the World Song Contest, an International competition for songwriters, will also be held during Innibos and three winners will go through to the national competition.

Events take place day and night at more than 12 venues in and around the beautiful city of Nelspruit. Feature concerts are held every night at the Standard Bank Main Stage at the main festival venue.

There is more than enough to satisfy any culture-vulture happy for quite a while. And if you get truly saturated by the culture, head out of the city and take a breather in the mountains.
