1 February 2006
This month sees the much-anticipated arrival of South Africa's old enemies from Australia to its shores.
Fresh from an exhausting trip Downunder, the South African boys will be happy to be back in front of their fanatical home fans and no more so than during the Standard Bank limited-overs series.
The schedule kicks off with a Standard Bank International Pro20 match, the second between the two but first in South Africa, which will surely be an action-packed encounter filled with boundaries, flying catches and cartwheeling stumps - all between lunch and supper.
From there the tour goes round the country for five eagerly awaited one-day Internationals, unusually spread over three weekends. Generally, South Africa's record against the canary yellow-clad team is good in this form but memories of the 1999 World Cup stay strong, so the team will be enthusiastically looking for a convincing series win.
Packed stadiums await - with the smell of boerewors wafting in the air, loud cheering, beautiful babes and most importantly top-class international cricket. An ideal tonic for the continuation of an exciting summer on the southern hemisphere.
Catch the action from 24 February to 12 March.
Here is more on Standard Bank's involvement in cricket.
