Andisa Securities, the stockbroking arm of Andisa Capital, has launched the Institute for Excellence in Securities Research 2005/2006 Graduate Mentorship Programme for the previously disadvantaged.
The programme entails an intensive 16-month training programme for four individuals who wish to pursue a career in stockbroking.
Andisa Securities, recognised as one of the leading stockbroking firms in South Africa, identified a shortage of professional people with the knowledge and skill to pursue a career in stockbroking.
To address this need, Andisa is seeking four outstanding individuals to be trained and mentored through an intensive 16-month programme, starting on 1 September 2005.
Interns will gain theoretical knowledge of investment research, corporate finance, fund management and securities trading through formal lectures and assignments and will be required to apply this knowledge by working with the Andisa Securities' Research teams.
Successful applicants will be remunerated for the duration of the programme. They will be considered for fulltime employment on successful completion of the programme.
Requirements
While an undergraduate degree is a prerequisite for the Institute of Excellence in Securities Research, individuals with the following qualifications and personal attributes will be regarded as suitable applicants:
- Majors in accountancy, economics, finance, investments or mathematics
- Ability to think laterally
- A passion for financial markets
- A level of self-motivation
- Determination
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work in a team
- Leadership qualities.
