17 October 2003
The Emerging Markets newspaper recently named Standard Bank as the "Best multilateral relationship" bank. The Emerging Markets newspaper is distributed at the IMF meeting to some 16,000 participants and is published by the Euromoney Institutional Investor group.
The "Best Bank" awards are based on conversations with, and nominations from, analysts at leading investment banks and ratings agencies. Issues considered include financial performance, quality of management, transparency and IT capabilities.
"Standard Bank's project finance expertise is one of the features that places it squarely in a league of its own for an emerging markets bank "said Emerging Markets Newspaper. "Today the bank is among the leading advisers and arrangers in the sector across Africa and Latin America."
